Week 1 January 4-10

4p-8p 4 Hours Interned

This day I met with Sue Bland and we went over the objectives to be achieved during this internship. I was introduced to the staff, Sister's of Saint Louise Convent (SCN), and was familiarized with how their organization worked. Because Saint Louise Convent is not ran by the state I am able to do duties such as medication administration, take Dr.'s orders, have access the Sisters charts, etc. without being a licensed RN, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, and so forth. I am currently a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and am aware of these duties. But as a CNA, they are all duties outside of my scope of practice. This is going to be a great opportunity to apply my knowledge and newly learned knowledge to practice! Everyone seemed more than willing to help me with learning their system and in helping me achieve my objectives! I am looking forward to this opportunity!
